Facebook Outage Cyber Attack

Facebook and Instagram Suffer Major Outage

Two-Hour Interruption Affects Millions of Users

Facebook and Instagram, two of the most popular social media platforms in the world, experienced a major outage on Tuesday. The outage, which lasted for more than two hours, affected millions of users around the globe.

Meta, the parent company of Facebook and Instagram, said that the outage was caused by a technical issue. The company did not provide any further details about the cause of the outage.

The outage began at around 10:00 AM EST and lasted until around 12:30 PM EST. During that time, users were unable to access Facebook or Instagram via the web or mobile apps.

The outage caused widespread frustration among users. Many people took to Twitter to complain about the outage and to ask when it would be resolved.

Meta eventually resolved the issue and both Facebook and Instagram were back up and running by 12:30 PM EST.

Major outages like this are relatively rare for Facebook and Instagram. However, they do happen from time to time. In 2019, Facebook experienced a major outage that lasted for nearly 24 hours.

Meta says that it is investigating the cause of the outage and will take steps to prevent similar outages from happening in the future.
